ف يا نرعاها، يا -لا قدّر الله- ندفنها بالحيا!

دي ملاحظات سريعة من وجهة نظر مصري مغترب شاف مصر بعد الثورة، والتجربة تبدأ بابتسامة ضابط الجوازات في المطار، والحمد لله مااتلطعتش تشابه أسماء كالعادة ;) -وبمناسبة المطار، مافيش طابور للمصريين فقط

عامة، الروح المعنوية مرتفعة، ودي الروح اللي دبت في شعب مصر. بقوا يا حاسين يا مؤمنين إن في أمل. مش الروح المعنوية لوحدها اللي منورة مصر، وانت ماشي في الشارع هتشيل من دماغك ضابط أمن الدولة اللي كان بينطلك من حيث لا تدري يقولك "بطاقتك"، واللا الملازم أبو نضارة سودا اللي خلاص اتكفى على وشه من كتر ماهو باصص عالسما. بالعكس، ده أنا عمري ما ضحكت قد المرة دي مع ضابط وأنا بسأله فين الساقية، وأقوله "يعني همشي ربع ساعة واللا نص ساعة؟" ويقوللي "ربع ساعة كده ... أو نص" -شكرا، هي دي مصر يا عبلة :D

إنما الروح العالية لا تخلو من مفاهيم غلط، أبرزها فقدان الحس بمحاسبة النفس قبل ما ييجي ضابط المرور يِلِبّك مخالفة (ضابط المرور: كائن نادر في مصر اليومين دول)، أو اللَبس عند البعض بين مفهومين متناقضين: الحرية والفتونة، لإن الخط الفاصل لسه مش عارفين نطبقه كما ينبغي: القانون.

أنا جاي هنا أقول انطباعي عن البلد، التحليلات هتلاقوها مالية الجرايد :)

البلد اتغيرت، والتغيير كبير، للأحسن. العجلة اتزقت لكن المطبات كتير، لازم يبقى في ناس تساوي المطبات بالأرض، وناس شغلها الشاغل إنها تمَشي العجلة في طريقها. لو ده ما حصلش، هيطلع فريق يفضل يلعن في اللي زق العجلة

أنا مش معترض على حملة "قول لا" في ظل نظام سمح لكل الأطراف بطرح آرائهم، الحملة قانونية ولازم يكون لكل صوت نصيبه في الشارع. زي مع بتتوزع وتتعلق منشورات وتتبعت رسائل وتتعمل مؤتمرات عشان تقول نعم، فمن حقي إني أتحاور مع الناس وأقولهم "ليه يقولوا لأ"، وأقولهم أنا هقول لا وليه. وواجب على كل مصري إنه ياخد قراره عن اقتناع
استخدام الفتاوى الدينية بشكل مضلل، دون مراجعة أو تحري أو تدقيق، أو عرض الأدلة، هو أسلوب مرفوض. وتعامل خاطئ بالدين
من حقي أنشر رأيي على الملأ، ومن حقي أقول أسبابي، ومن حقي وحقك ندخل في حوار حول آرائنا.. كل ده من غير فرض لرأيي ولا لرأيك
إذا كنت بتشوف من بعض الناس إن التخوين لطرف هو شيء لا يصح، فأقول للي بيشكك في إسلامي إنها "قلة أدب" بكل ما تعنيه الكلمة من معنى، لمجرد إن رأيي خالف الإخوان أو جماعة، واتفق مع البرادعي. محمد دياب والبرادعي وعمرو خالد ومعز مسعود هيقولوا "لا"، واختلافي معاك في الرأي لا يعطيك أي صلاحية إنك تشكك في تديني

الآراء حول التعديلات الدستورية «منقاة»

أُعلن يوم التاسع عشر من مارس ليكون يوم الاستفتاء على التعديلات الدستورية المقترحة. جاءت هذه التعديلات لتشمل 9 مواد من الدستور المصري المُعلَق العمل به حاليا، وإضافة المادة 189 مكرر والمادة 189 مكرر1.

اختلفت الآراء بين مؤيد ومعارض لهذه التعديلات، فنادت شخصيات بارزة مثل د.معتز بالله عبد الفتاح ود.عصام العريان (الإخوان المسلمين) ونوارة نجم ود.سليم العوا، بالموافقة على هذه التعديلات لما تتضمنه من انتقال سَلِس للسلطة، وإلزام الإعداد لدستور جديد في ظل أول مجلس للشعب. ونادت شخصيات أخرى بارزة برفض هذه التعديلات مثل د. عمرو حمزاوي ود. محمد البرادعي، وكيانات مثل شباب ائتلاف الثورة وحزب الوفد، لما يعقب ذلك من إعادة إحياء دستور سقطت شرعيته، ولأسباب عدة سأسردها قدر المستطاع في هذا المقال إن شاء الله.

جميعهم قِمَم وأصوات تُحتَرم، وجميعهم اجتهدوا، وهذا الإختلاف هو ثمرة محمودة من ثمار الثورة.

ولكن يبقى على كل منا واجب تجاه وطنه ليدرس تلك التعديلات الدستورية، ويستمع لآراء من كلا الطرفين. لذا سأقسم هذا المقال لنقاط ثلاث: نصائح قد يجدها البعض مفيدة لاتباعها عند قراءة مختلف الآراء، وإجابات لبعض التساؤلات وآراء شخصية، وأخيرا مجموعة من اللقاءات والمقالات توضح أوجه النظر المختلفة.

أولاً: نصائح قد تفيدك

أدعو الجميع لقراءة التعديلات الدستورية كاملة قبل النظر في ملخصات أو مقالات قد تنقل النص بتصريف، قد يكون قد أثر على هذا التصريف الرأي الشخصي للكاتب. النص الكامل للتعديلات
قد يغلب على آراء المحللين عبارات واسعة مثل "دستور مهلهل" و"الخوف من المجهول" و "ترقيع"، إلخ...
قد تكون في كثير من الأحيان هذه العبارات صحيحة، ولكن في جميع الأحوال أنصح بالبحث وراء المسببات وراء هذه الأوصاف، حيث أن القاريء قد يرى بعد الاضطلاع على تلك المسببات أنه لا مجهول نخاف منه -مثلا- أو أن التعديلات لا تعيب الدستور ولا تجعله مرقعا -على سبيل المثال أيضا-
تجريد الرأي من المصطلحات غير المصحوبة بأدلة أو نصوص، فإذا قرأت مثلا أن هذه المادة لا تتوافق مع "القانون الدستوري" دون الإشارة إلى نص القانون، فهذا ليس تعليلا كافيا

ثانيا: إجابات لبعض التساؤلات وآراء شخصية

الكثير منا تساءل ماذا ان رفضنا التعديلات، هل يعيدنا هذا إلى دستور 71، أم يلزم المجلس العسكري بإجراء تعديلات أخرى؟
الإجابة: هذا لا يعيدنا إلى دستور 71، لأن رفض التعديلات يُبقي الحال على ما هو عليه. أي أنه سيبقى الدستور معطل. وحتى هذه اللحظة لم تتضح خطة المجلس إذا رفضت التعديلات، هل سيطرح تعديلات أخرى؟ أم سينادي بتشكيل مجلس رئاسي؟ أم سيطالب القوى الوطنية بطرح قوائم لجان تأسيسية لعمل دستور جديد؟
وللتذكرة، فإن المجلس العسكري هو حاكم البلاد لمدة 6 أشهر "أو لحين إجراء الانتخابات البرلمانية والرئاسية"
هل تحرم المادة 75 من الدستور المرأة المصرية من حق الانتخاب؟
الإجابة: لا. نص المادة يخاطب "الشخص" المرشح للرئاسة، و تذكير المخاطبة في اللغة هو شمول للإناث والذكور. كما أن النص قد حرص على عدم تأنيث زوج المرشح في هذه العبارة: ...وألا يكون متزوجاً من غير «مصري» ...
هل المجلس المنتخب مُلزم بوضع دستور جديد؟
نعم. في نص المادة 189 مكرر أُلزم المجلس، وفقا لقوانين الفقرة الأخيرة من المادة 189 التي تنص على: "و لكل من رئيس الجمهورية و بعد موافقة مجلس الوزراء و لنصف أعضاء مجلسي الشعب و الشورى طلب إصدار دستور جديد و تتولى جمعية تأسيسية من مائة عضو ينتخبهم أغلبية أعضاء المجلسين غير المعينين في اجتماع مشترك إعداد مشروع الدستور في موعد غايته ستة أشهر من تاريخ تشكيلها و يعرض رئيس الجمهورية المشروع خلال خمس عشرة يوما من إعداده على الشعب لاستفتائه في شانه و يعمل بالدستور من تاريخ إعلان موافقة الشعب عليه في الاستفتاء"
تبدأ الفقرة الأولى بإعطاء الصلاحية لرئيس الجمهورية أو المجلس لتعديل الدستور، وهي صلاحية لا تتعارض مع الإلزام المنصوص عليه في المادة 189 مكرر "«يجتمع» الأعضاء غير المعينين لأول مجلسي شعب و شورى تاليين لإعلان نتيجة الاستفتاء على تعديل الدستور لاختيار الجمعية التأسيسية المنوط بها إعداد مشروع الدستور الجديد..."
رأي: لا يزال هذا الدستور يعطي صلاحيات مُطْلقة لرئيس الجمهورية كما هو الحال في المادة 136. وما أكثر سلطات الرئيس في الفرع الأول من الفصل الثالث من الدستور (السلطة التنفيذية)
رأي\سؤال: يحتوي الدستور على 211 مادة، بالإضافة للمواد الجديدة المقترحة، مما يزيد من فرصة عدم الترابط والاتفاق بين مواد الدستور، كما هو اللبس المبين في المادتين 189 والمادة 189 مكرر. وهل إذا أعيد إحياء هذا الدستور يقوم رئيس المحكمة الدستورية بتولي رئاسة البلاد أم لا؟ (كما هو في المادة 84)

بناء على ما سبق، فإني أرى أنه بالرغم مما تضمنه التعديلات الحالية من إلزام مجلس الشعب المنتخب بتغيير الدستور، فإنه لا مبرر للتخوف من رفض التعديلات ولا مبرر للتخوف من النداء بتغييرات جذرية للدستور في الوقت الحالي، مع ممارسة جميع المؤسسات مهامها كما هو الحال الآن -أو بشكل أفضل.

في حالة رفض التعديلات لن نعود إلى دستور 71، وسيعمل المجلس العسكري على إعادة النظر في كافة السبل للوصول إلى دستور متوافق عليه، أو إعلان دستوري (أو دستور مؤقت)، فلن نعيش بدستور لا نرضاه -فلا داعي للتخوف من رفض التعديلات. وإذا قبلنا بالتعديلات فإننا نقبل بذلك الدستور بأكمله وليس التعديلات فقط. فإن كان بإمكاننا أن نطالب بدستور مؤقت أو إعلان دستوري، متوافق عليه وطنيا، فلما الاندفاع إلى الموافقة على دستور لنا عليه كثير من التحفظات الملحوظة. في رأيي أن الخوف من المجهول هو إعادة لسيناريو "ماذا بعد تنحي مبارك!؟" وها نحن ذا دون مبارك نعيش مع حكومة مشهود لها بالشرف وقيادة عسكرية مشهود لها بحماية إرادة الشعب والسعي إلى الحوار البنّاء

رأيي صواب يحتمل الخطأ، ورأي غيري خطأ يحتمل الصواب ... وصندوق الاستفتاء هو الحَكَم

A long busy tiring yesterday, moving from Beauthorn House to Budenberg Haus

Just had the keys yesterday Morning, at Thornely Groves, then checked in and went "celebrating" ... supposedly, with a sandwich, cheese cake and an "untasety" decaff-cappucino (in case anybody is interested in that level of details!)

The tiring part of the day was the time spent packing, cleaning the other flat ... and looking for a car(s), then unpacking the stuff, and catching the store 30 mins before it closes.

Not much fun, however I like the new apartment, the interior and terrace ... and I like the single mixed water tap!

Now that I've removed the Content Lock -that was on 18+ websites, like YouTube and Blogger!- I'm back

This is about last weekend, another day in Altrincham ... precisely, Trafford

That’s why I’ve been to Trafford Centre, the nearest Carphone Warehouse stock where I can get T-Mobile’s USB Modem. I badly needed internet connection the night before, to send an -important- email. Even worse, once I started my 1-hour session (a £3 session!) that night, I lost the network connection, while the session countdown is on! … no more mobile credit, and a f’up BT hotspot

The second time being to Trafford Centre, the place looks much better and active in the morning. And I didn’t want to miss having Shawerma and Falafel sandwiches, yum!

Back home, plugged in the stick, voila! Internet connection, with no access to YouTube … I should verify an 18+ age user for T-Mobile … here comes the only good thing about T-Mobile’s pink color, it makes me feel like “It’s Ok, don’t panic … it’s as easy as a retail visit the next day”

The first few days in Altrincham…

Here I’m, just arrived few days ago (Wednesday at 17:30). After postponing my flight for 2 days for a couple of reasons:

Finish plumbing work at the apartment :^)
Spending more time with my humble family (my sister and aunt) … thought postponing 2 days won’t be that big loss for my work :)

On EgyptAir:

The first flight: Cairo -> London (Heathrow) was on Egyptair. The 2 things that caught my attention were the empty refreshing “towel” pack I got with the meal!

And the 10 mins delay flying around in the sky, because of the heavy traffic on Heathrow’s airport!

Then safe at Heathrow, had the original Costa coffee, and then headed to Manchester, to the office to have the flat keys.

At the temporary flat:

A flat where I should stay for 30 days … got no internet connection (except the 1 hour I can get paying from my mobile’s credit). And no bedding.. In Britain’s cold weather! My first night was terrible … heaters weren’t enough –at all- had to get bedding items (a Duvet and a pillow) the next day

All in all, not accustomed yet, polite (and friendly) people ... and quiet evenings

بقيت من ذوي الإيصالات...

الإيصال (اسم): قطعة من الورق المستطيلة، مكتوب عليها رقم طلب استخراج البطاقة الانتخابية وتاريخ الطلب

بتتوزع مجانا في الإدارات الانتخابية باقسام الشرطة، وآخر فرصة للحصول على الورقة المستطيلة هي بكره (31 يناير)، وما بتاخدش عشر دقايق وتكون معاك.

التفاصيل...
في يوم متَرّب، مغيم، مش برد أوي ... اتجهت لقسم الجيزة في وقت الكهربا كانت قاطعه فيه. وأنا طالع الإدارة الانتخابية راجل الأمن تحت سألني عن اسمي وشاف البطاقة، أنا استشفيت أنه بيدور على اسمي الكامل عشان يضيفني عنده عالـFacebook، يعني بالعقل هيكون إيه غير كده!

بما إني ما كانش معايا صورة البطاقة (عادي نسيت!)، نزلت ومشيت لغاية ما لقيت راجل أمن ابن حلال بتاع NSGB قلت له عايز أصور البطاقة، قالي هات أصورهالك ... راجل كُمّل الحقيقة

رجعت للقسم، فقالولي خد معاك الست الكبيرة دي وصلها لفوق، قلت يا سلام .. بس كده. واحنا طالعين الست دعت للراجل قالت له "ربنا يحفظك من كل حاكم ظالم" .. إحم!

طلعت بصورة البطاقة، (وصورة شهادة الميلاد ما عملتش بيها حاجة)، ومليت الطلب واتمضى واداني قطعة الورق المستطيلة وقالي تعالى (أنا بنفسي) استلم البطاقة في شهر خمسة، بالرغم من إني مواليد 87، لكن قدري إن اتولدت بره مصر (ده أكبر دليل على إن الأم هي اللي بتربي). شهر خمسة ... يا سلام، ده أنا أنزل أجازة مخصوص، هو أنا عندي أغلى من البطاقة

فنفهم من كده إيه؟ خلي عندك بطاقة، عشان تقدر تغير الجو المترّب! ... وربنا عالــ..ــم قد إيه أنا قلبي أبيض!

قضيت يوم جميل بعد كده مع شباب الكلية، وفي معرض الكتاب ;)

ايه ده! هو احنا ما ينفعش نغلط في البخاري؟

قصدك تقول إن الشعوب اتفقت وأقرت بكتاب البخاري، وما اتحرفش لغاية النهارده، وعشان كده هو ما يتغلطش فيه؟

واضح من القول "يعني هو احنا غلطنا في البخاري" إن كتاب الصحيح كان له صدى وتأثير على مدار الزمن

ده مش البخاري وبس، ده في الإمام مسلم والشافعي وغيرهم كتير -رضي الله عنهم-، وده يرجع لأساليبهم في استخراج الحديث/المتن والحرص على اثبات صحة السند. لكن أنا مش هتكلم هنا عن الأساليب أو التفاصيل، لكن أنا عايز أبين إنه ممكن .. ممكن يكون فيه كتاب صحيح. حتى اللي شككوا في صحيح البخاري، ما وصلوش لأساليب تضاهي أساليبه، أو إثبات ضعف أو إنكار أحاديث صححها البخاري. وإيه اللي جد يخليهم يشككوا في الصحيح؟

لكن كتير، آلاف من الناس أقرت بصحيح البخاري .. طب وهل ده شيء ممكن!؟

قال تعالى: "إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا الذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَحَافِظُونَ"(الحجر 9)

قال تعالى: "وَمَا يَنطِقُ عَنِ الْهَوَى . إِنْ هُوَ إِلاَّ وَحْيٌ يُوحَى . عَلَّمَهُ شَدِيدُ الْقُوَى"(النجم 3-5)

إذا كلام الرسول من الذكر؟ وربنا قادر على انه يحفظ القرآن ويحفظ السنة

والمُحدّثين عارفين قول رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: "من كذب علي متعمدا فليتبوأ مقعده من النار"

من هو البخاري؟

هو أبو عبد الله محمد بن إسماعيل بن إبراهيم بن المغيرة بن بردزبه البخاري
ولد في القرون الثلاث الأولى من ظهور الإسلام، قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم "خير الناس قرني، ثم الذين يلونهم ، ثم الذين يلونهم ، ثم يجيء قوم تسبق شهادة أحدهم يمينه ، ويمينه شهادته"
لم يشهد تاريخ الإسلام مثله في قوة الحفظ ودقة الرواية والصبر على البحث مع قلة الإمكانات
يقول البخاري: صنفت الصحيح في ست عشرة سنة وجعلته حجة فيما بيني وبين الله تعالى
قال أبو جعفر سمعت أبا عمر سليم بن مجاهد يقول كنت عند محمد بن سلام البيكتدي فقال لو جئت قبل لرأيت صبيا يحفظ سبعين ألف حديث قال فخرجت في طلبه حتى لحقته قال أنت الذي يقول إني أحفظ سبعين ألف حديث قال نعم وأكثر ولا أجيئك بحديث من الصحابة والتابعين إلا عرفتك مولد أكثرهم ووفاتهم ومساكنهم ولست أروي حديثا من حديث الصحابة أو التابعين إلا ولي من ذلك أصل أحفظه حفظا عن كتاب الله وسنة رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم

ولاحظت أن البخاري كان يحتج بأحاديث الرسول -صلى الله عليه وسلم-

قال محمد بن أبي حاتم أتى رجل عبد الله البخاري فقال يا أبا عبد الله إن فلانا يكفرك فقال: " قال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم:"إذا قال الرجل لأخيه يا كافر فقد باء به أحدهما" وكان كثير من أصحابه يقولون له إن بعض الناس يقع فيك فيقول "إِنَّ كَيْدَ الشَّيْطَانِ كَانَ ضَعِيفًا" (النساء 76)، ويتلو أيضا "وَلا يَحِيقُ الْمَكْرُ السَّيِّئُ إِلاَّ بِأَهْلِهِ" (فاطر 43) فقال له عبد المجيد بن إبراهيم كيف لا تدعو الله على هؤلاء الذين يظلمونك ويتناولونك ويبهتونك، فقال: قال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم "اصبروا حتى تلقوني على الحوض" وقال صلى الله عليه وسلم "من دعا على ظالمه فقد انتصر"

تحديث عوامل حفظ السنة

The Four

Here shedding some light, from a different perspective, on 4 of the most influencing characters in the region, east to west.

The Four have come from different origins, over decades, centuries ago.. to give those who observe the world's history, a symbol of coexistence among different cultures; and how rich/massive knowledge, solid arguments and terrific communication skills have made of them .. role models! because they are not the only ones.

They believed in the secret behind traveling, dealing with different people .. cultures and matters.

The Four had knowledge of medicine, astronomy, philosophy and/or genealogy; professional discernment-ers; native knights. Learnt and taught language, and made best of the language in arguments and digging deep .. in their major science.
They have been into such different fields because they realized the importance of science, as a necessary thing more than being a hobby! .. and no need to say how this empowered their contribution to conversations with different people of different backgrounds.

They were nominated for high positions because they gained the mass trust, and the governor's trust. One of the most significant positions was working as a jurist .. fraud-free justice

The Four, are the The Four Muslim Imams

They:

- ..were charismatic

- Understood the other opinion, and won strong logical debates

- Learnt from their ancestors

- Worked with every smart person who had sufficient knowledge, to deliver their knowledge to people

- Knew they are not Gods; again, they only well used their rich knowledge

They didn't:

- Choose to target a sector of those who have very limited knowledge, who would only praise their speech .. and appear as mavericks

- Ignore the others knowledge and opinions

- Miss strong ability of speech

A break ... from the Facebook market

I felt recently like drowning in the Facebook market, where over 100 guys on my Friends list Share (Photos, Links, Notes, Videos), Like and Comment... leaving no space for simple and remarkable words

Yes, it takes me a couple of minutes to think of a "wise" reply and other couple of minutes to think of that guy's post among a number of duplicated posts!

Life used to be much simpler with a blog... and twitter. Even now Wave makes it more fun

Finally, I decided to see how it feels to be away from Facebook, how would I remember my friend's birthday or fasting Arafa? become a fan of Zewail? and keep in touch with everyone... just through 'this' (my blog), my twitter: "melmorsy" and my Wave.

I see it veeery possible, and I find it even silly to think of how I would survive without a facebook

Update:
That sounded like running away from Facebook (running from some guys on the friends list?)... back there with -kinda- different behavior and email notifications disabled. Facebook should provide advanced filtering and notifications control though ... they should!

Perl, You don't want to miss! -3-

Lists and arrays in Perl.

That will be my last post about Perl, however Perl doesn't stop here :) ... you may notice I didn't mention the strength of Perl string processing and file handling. It's worth searching for ;)

What about list?
I may have mentioned before that lists could be generated easily this way in Perl:

(1..5)

This is a range list, it's also valid for character types

What about:

(c..10)

This one is valid too! since "c" is interpolated to Zero (0), then it becomes: (0..10)

Lists in general could be written this way:

('Item1', 'Item2', 'Item3')

or

qw(Item1 Item2 Item3) #you may use any delimeters for this method rather than the parens

Indexing the list is much like any other language you know,using square brackets. The two things that might be of interest in Perl:

- Using a floating number to index, will be floored

- Using a negative number will index starting from the end of the list (backward)

- You may user a list of indexes! this will return another list for the indexed positions (list slice)

- You may combine slicing and ranging to construct the list of indexes. [1,2,3 .. 7]

Assignable lists:

($firstItem , $secondItem) = (1,2);

print $firstItem; #This should print '1'

Array type:

@arrayName = (1,2,3,4);

print @array,"\n"; #Output: 1234

print "@array\n"; #Output: 1 2 3 4 #Notice the spaces! Amazing

Indexing an array variabe:

use "$" to tell Perl what you "want" to get out of the variable.

$firstItem = $arrayName[0]; #Notice the usage of the '$' when indexing the array

#That's because it's returning a single/scalar value;

The "scalar" function may take care of this too.

What's the array's last index? $#

So for example, for array "@arr", that last element's index is: $#arr

List methods:

- shift: Add element to the front

- unshift: Get & remove element from the front

- push: Add element to the back

- pop: Get & remove element from the back

- sort: returns a sorted array, be default it sorts using the string comparison methods.

sort { <:method expression>} @arrayName

So it would be for example:

sort { -($a <=> $b) } @array;

This will return a sorted array, in descending order.

Loops and if conditions are not much differnt from other langauges:

while, for, do-while, if, foreach

What seems new to me (Cx & Java developer)

- if -elseif

- until (negative of "while": while not)

- do ... until

- unless (negative of "if": if not)

What about loop controls?

- last (aka "break")

- next (aka "continue")

- redo (the amazing keyword, just redo the loop!)

while(<STDIN>) #Keep reading the standard input

print; #No argument? yes, it defaults to printing the magic variable: $_

if($_ > 0) {

$_--; #Decerement

redo; #Back to the top of the loop without executing the condition body!

Expression Modifier

What about rephrasing the "redo"?

redo if $_-- > 0; #Remember, the post-decrement has the lower precedence

See, the statement (action) comes before the condition in this expression modifier.

This is valid for the "if" and "unless" too. Give it a try!

Assalamo Alikom,

This post is about Perl, a well known programming language, and you don't want to ask me about it! I'm still a beginner doing the book execrices, didn't finish my assignments yet.

Better you go google "Perl": A {Scripting Dynamic} Langauge

This post is intended mainly to mention the first facts I've learned about Perl, it'll be all about the "print" function and some Strings and Numbers!

Print:

Here's the first picture of "print":

print "Hello... you know!";

This will print: Hello... you know!

Trivial, hah? even this:

print 'Hello... World!'

This will print: Hello...World!

What if we embeded this (scalar) string $myName inside the first version of print:

$myName = "Muhammad";

print "Hello $myName"

The second version?

$myName = "Muhammad";

print "Hello $myName"

This didn't automatically convert my string, good!

What about this:

print `Hello World!`;

These are different quote styles: `

This should output something like: Command not found ... Yeah, this print will execute what's inside!

So you may try something like:

print `cp file1 file2`;

("cp" is the copy command for bash)

What about Strings/Numbers?

Strings in Perl are First-Class Citizens! users shouldn't treat them as a character array!

$stringOne = "1";

print $stringOne + 1;

This prints "2" ;)

What about this:

$stringAddress = "8A";

print $stringAddress + 8;

This will print a warning! and then? ... it will print "16" which is 8+8

Perl starts parsing the string until it finds a non-numeric value it terminates but it keeps the valid piece. Notice that if the address string was something like: "A8" it would be converted to "0"!

Incrementing strings:

print ++"A0";

This will output: A1

You should give it a try yourself ;)

Boot from LAN...

Hi pals... long time no see :)

I've been encountering a serious problem with my laptop during the last week. Windows is no more behaving as normal; Taskbar loads in 30+ mins, any executable takes no less time, and any processing is nothing better!
This is incredible, I had to try booting from a Windows CD (Hopefully that fixes the problem)... on my HP Compaq nx9010 :|
But, the CD-ROM is malfunction and no bootable floppy, neither boot from USB is an available option.

I had to look for alternatives:

Boot from LAN
Extract the HDD, connect it to a PC and format-install Windows

The second option was hard enough such that I wasn't able to get my HDD out of the laptop, so I left the laptop alone so not to take any insane actions against :)!

The first option is my man! although it took me 3 nights to set the environment, as in the following steps (However, I've not finished installing Windows yet... still copying files!):

Setup the PXE Server PC
This server will contain all required files for the laptop to boot successfully

Here's all about preparing the server: http://home.allegiance.tv/~joem298/
OR you can just download and extract this ZIP anywhere, then run "tftpd32". This will start your PXE server.

netw.imz: is the bootable floppy image, equiped with the network drivers. Non built-in drivers are available on www.nu2.nu/bootdisk, with many helpful info on how to install it.
Start the laptop and select "Boot from LAN" option
This will connect to the server through 1-to-1 connection cable (avoid routers for clean startup and especially any DHCP enabled one)

Enable network driver.
If driver auto-detection failed, then you might find it in the "Manual Selection" dialog (you'll be offered that option if auto-detection failed).

Otherwise, you will need the help of "whatnic" command, this will show the adapter type and recommended drivers to download from www.nu2.nu/bootdisk
You'll then need to modify the "netw.imz" to include the new drivers. AND make sure to select "Rebuild" option when restarting from the new bootable (rather than "Auto" or "Manual"); this will rebuild the drivers on the bootable disk, and reflect your changes.
Having a Windows CD shared on the PC, and network driver enabled on the laptop, now you can access the shared folder and install windows

Using "msnet" command on a well set laptop (victim), this will ask to map a drive to your shared folder. Make sure to use the server PC name NOT the IP address when specifying the shared folder path on your server.

DONE! now run the windows installer or whatever you wanna do with your powerfull DOS!

هل توجد لكل سؤال إجابة واحدة صحيحة، أم يمكن أن تكون له إجابات عديدة صحيحة، نختار منها نحن ما يناسبنا؟
يتوقف هذا طبعا على السؤال، مثلا إذا سُئلت: من أين تشرق الشمس؟ أو ما هو مجموع 2+2؟ أو السكر حلو أم مرّ؟ تأتي إجابتك على الأسئلة الثلاثة واضحة (تشرق من الشرق، مجموعها يساوي 4، السكر حلو). وتكون أي إجابة مختلفة عن أي من هذه الأسئلة خاطئة، لأنها أسئلة موضوعية لا تتطلب رأياً أو اختياراً منك
وإذا اشترى لك والدك دراجة حمراء وسئلت عن لونها، قستجيب على هذا السؤال الموضوعي بالإجابة الوحيدة الصحيحة (أحمر) .. لكن إذا سئلت: هل هي مريحة؟ أو هل تستطيع أن تسبق بها دراجات زملائك؟ أو أي لون ترى أنه أنسب للدراجات؟

Quality side-by-side with Marketing

We believe that big part of the Marketing process is the intersection of the customers need and what the vendor can give.

What the vendor can give could be a something new, whatever are the customer needs, this new thing might be then supported with reputation or it might not, where the later case is a wrong action!
Regarding the start, we have one example here: "Archimy.com is a service for drawing the graphs of all kinds of functions.With Archimy, you will draw the graph of any function and form, just use your imagination"
And? so What? ... what then?

On the other hand, it might be the marketing words that rule, for example "Microsoft Robotics Studio", why did researchers and companies used MSRS?
It's because "The Microsoft Robotics Studio is a Windows-based environment for academic, hobbyist and commercial developers to easily create robotics applications across a wide variety of hardware."
Is it really "Easy"...No. To use MSRS, you have to understand other concepts, SOA and CCR.
Why should I bother myself with this, when I can use a normal DLL to get my job done?

What about a mix of those?
This mix include a list of "reliable" products we deal with daily:
- Google search
- Microsoft Outlook
- Facebook

So it's a mixture of finding the customers, satisfy there need cuz you "can" do, be supportive to keep the reputation, even if you find your way in other set of products.

The Struggle in FCIS!

The most appropriate word when you see the state of students, and hear the Dean speech...
That's what I felt today when I heard the Dean speech in the TU2 party
What the hell he was saying today!!
I couldn't believe a word from what he said, while I see my friends rejected to prepare Masters in FCIS ... and for an unethical reason that the Dean has founded!
It's never a lose for my friends, it's absolutely a lose for FCIS ... one day that mess should stop

That's not my issue for now...
Most probably, my issue is about ACM as usual, and not ACM only, but any activities that require lot of care from the Academic staff.

I felt that in my days, but not that way I feel it now
Specially in my last year in faculty, I felt it less, cuz ACMers had some care from Teaching Staff
The year before we could survive ... but that's not the case for most of people, and it shouldn't be, cuz caring about ACM could have side effects in that case, that most of people don't want to encounter.

Here is the mess in FCIS:

The First team is not participating in the Regionals
This is the team that its members proposals for Masters were rejected, so they are no more enrolled in an Academic Institute ... so, they lost the chance for participating in the Regional Contest, to not allow the best team to represent the faculty
Isn't that a lose for FCIS !
The traveling teams, have no bonus in FCIS
Ok, the teams are back now, to finish there X projects, and get back into track with the courses...
Maybe saying sorry for a sad Professor because his students left his lectures to participate in an "auxiliary" event!
What a silliness!
The Dean doesn't know what's EOI/IOI
As many other activities, he only knows ACM because he had to prepare his papers to travel outside Egypt!
Or maybe because he know the committee members cuz of the activities they have in college ... yaaah a7medak ya Rabb
Ok, but the dean knows about HP, ITIDA, etc...
Those contests with "guaranteed" prizes... where guaranteed here doesn't require the participants to be qualified enough
I like the Agile Process in my faculty
The faculty doesn't know how ACM riches the Resume
Professors and "high-ranks" travelled across the region participating in Regionals, meeting other academic staff, talking and chatting ..bla bla bla...
The benefit is "X Univesity has capabilities to prepare labs, it's haaaard in FCIS"
What a logical reason, and what a benefit from the chat!
Now you can ask the ACM pioneers how ACM has put a value to your Resume, (i'm not ignoring the projects and academic knowledge) ... but ACM has an effect on all the ACMers, whether in interview, or the mental powers in solving problems during work

At the end, I would like to focus in brief on the struggling students to accomplish their mission in winning the contest, and making perfect projects, and attend what's called lectures

United Kingdom Trip (3)

More and more I believe it's too hard not to live among ur family and friends, but u can make it and not live in ur country. Since family and friends are in the country, so we live there and love it ... and we might think of the word "Family" as big as u can imagine.

Those days, starting last Friday till today, I've got to know my team-mates much much more, starting from Al-Jom3a prayer then London trip.
I followed my mates to London on Saturday morning, following the path to the Hotel they reside in. The trip started with taxi to the Train Station, a train to London Paddington station, then the Underground (the original ;) ) to Trafalgar Square.
My whole plan is to "visit the Big Ben"! ... what a shame :D

Ok, we had a walk in London streets, bought some stuff then met Abdul-Rahman (one mate) cousin and went together to the Tames, Big Ben, London Eye, Bukingham Palace ...I saw a 'sample' of the uniformaly walking soldiers infront of the palace, it was late enough to find the Stand Still soldiers with black fur cap
Ended the day with a dinner in a Persian Restaurant ..

Next day, we met Artem (Architect in Mentor Graphics, maybe more...) and took us in another trip to Hyde Park, Harrods and the Science Museum... during that walk I had a speech with Ahmed (the second mate) ... and we got to know each other more, and I've got to know myself more... That was gr8

It's gr8 for a person to have a goal, plan to reach his goal..but he must put into consideration "People" either supporting or consuming. Listen to different opinions because most of the time a person has to take a Decision.
You'll find people in different zones around you, make sure to be so close to the closet zone people, and have relations with the second zone, and not to lose people in the third one ... and always make productive relations ... for ur Future, depending on how big ur goal is.

United Kingdom Trip (2)

Missing u moooooooore...
That time i'm gonna talk about how is life here up till now...
It's quite, since we are in Newbury sides, not in the center.
We usually go work and return with a TME in the Altrincham office (who came to Newbury for that training too).
Mmmmm, I've no much interesting things to say about life here, although it's quite and clean..but we've not been to market places or dealing with citizens during that period, only with Mentor employees.
British, Japanese, American and Indian offices ... can't forget to mention the Russian genius ;) .. he's in one of the British offices.
I've got to know my direct manager in Newbury, a one higher, and the highest :D .. not that much...cuz those people had meetings, while I had training session on the tool I'm working on..that's interesting too.
The one resposible for my training (and my team-mate in Egypt) is our direct boss, he's so quite, helpful, experienced for sure and informative .. and we still have work to do for the coming week.

Well, for now I've no photos, wait my next post n-sha2-ALLAH (most probably the photos will be on facebook whenver available)

United Kingdom Trip (1)

How r u all ? .. I started missing u :)
Here I'm in UK, more precisely in Newbury for 12 days, in a training for the company I'm hired in (Mentor Graphics)...
The trip started with British Airways, another perfect pilots while taking off and landing...during the last few hours (in a 5 hours fly) I've enjoyed the scene of montains covered with snow..and as usual in Europian countries, the scene of regular blocks (country divisions).

In the airport we have been delayed for security checks, I didn't expect that as it didn't happen in Germany, but it's a routine with Arab youth in UK (A) .. then "Welcome in UK"
We arrived in Heathrow Airport, then two cars were there to take us to the Hotel in Newbury "Donnington Valley" (Where I'm writing that post)
The guys (me and other two company colleagues)... couldn't check in the moment we arrived, cuz Rooms are not checked out yet...so we have had to wait for about hour-n-half in the lobby.
All passed, and we are now in our Rooms (service looks like Mariot Hotel, and architecture is like Grand Hotel) .. now we can think of how to enjoy our day! ;)

Actually we are in Newbury country sides, so we had a walk to Newbury center (no more than 30 minutes), looking for Restaurants..and having a general look around.
Finally, nothing cheaper than ..McDonalds! .. I ordered a File-O-Fish meal, that was enough.
During our journey from and to the hotel, we had a talk about differnet topics, that was a better chance to know those guys better (even in Mc, that was a place where different opinions revealed -I guess u know-)

OK .. let's have a warm shower ... hah... gr8, now I can write the post and have a cup of Capoccino ;) (Tea, Coffee & Milk are available in Rooms, the Capoccino is mine :D)

Loooong time since I've written smg :O , I was planning to write about SC and EOI, but those topics actually didn't impress me, although I've prepared a draft about SC, but I prefer to talk about it face-2-face :)

So, Today was the last day in one of my life sequences (ITasks :D ), starting with Mentor Graphics offer and ending with Senior Contest. The "Senior Contest" topic is branched to many interesting sub-topics, and I'll start with events in chronological order (wayka2anny describing problem statement :D )

Mentor Graphics offer: I've no much to say about it, no more than that it's a dream coming true al-hamdulellah :) ... I like to work in electronics systems (this company works in EDA), along with my scientific knowledge and IT, I guess this will be a big block in my life n-sha2-ALLAH.

Senior Contest (Summer-2007, Today):
I received the offer call of Mentor Graphics while I was in Genedy with Kamal preparing for the contest. That's just an introduction to the contest preparations...

Preparation:
The most hard part of making a contest, is the preparation... advertising, configuring PCs, finding place and finding time.
I suggest making a department for "Contest" in the ACM-ASCIS :D , that's resposible only for contests preparation. Contests are a good training and needs as much care as well as other activities.
Finally, I'm so thankful to Haytham, Kamal and the consultant Abdalla (al-mo7'aDram :P) for their support :)
Contest Day-Preparation:
As usual, we have things to do in the contest day morning, of course there's a delay for opening the lab, then starting the air conditioners. BTW, I'm so so so sorry for this, the contestants had really hard time while competing, the environment wasn't suitable, it's a problem with conditioners, I didn't know what's the fault!
Contest Running:
During that time, I've started seeing the results .. and bugs :D of the preparation!
The scoreboard, the MSDN, Java and the printer. And the most, mmmm, I don't know how to describe it ... is the rejudging of "Sumtorials II", by that time I felt being a Judge, as well as I felt the sadness of many contestants, I'm so sorry, but it's legal in ACM Rules :D
Teams performance:
I liked the performance of three teams:

Code Masters: I don't have to tell why, they are the First :D, they have reached a position they dreamed of many years, and no one didn't want it, it's a dream of all ACMers.

Why Not? : A stable performance, always on top, a strong indicator for a better performance on the run. I own an apology for this team, for not giving them much of my time, they have the "indicator" and I wish I could help them reaching their aim.

Amigoz-- :D : It's because I missed sitting on that middle chair sharing problems with them, and I was so Happy to see Mustafa in the team, while me and Haytham are administrating the contest, really tight cooperation :)

The Event, The New Committeee:
Leaving ACM-ASCIS Steering Committee, it wasn't that much sad :), we are leaving the committee for another generation for more productivity and "Spreading Knowledge".
The new committee seems to me really "New", Rabbena ywafa2hom managing the Committee :)

BTW, another good news, is Nada's internship, Rabbena yekremha :)
BTW-2 :D, Moussa ettasal beya just now, w 2ally enn howa acepted in Critical Sites (C++ a3da2 el Java, grrr :D :D ) and soon n-sha2-ALLAH haygeelo el offer ;) .. ma-sha2-ALLAH

Business Planning Course

Well, another track to our lifetime movie ...
We've (3DEER Team) prepared a small business plan to apply for the "Business Planning Competition" sponsered by "Ideavelopers" in collaboration with the MCIT, AUC, Telecom Egypt, ITWorx, TDF, EFG and ITIDA.
We have won the first phase, and chosen with other 29 teams to participate in the semi-finals al-hamdulellah ... but time!!
Today was the fisrt lecture, the course will finish 19th of May (First day of final exams!) ... daily from 6 to 10pm except Friday
Wow! ... I'm so confused now... only one per team should attend the course (team members can switch)... so I've attended today.. and that post is about the impression towards a new experience.

Today I've seen professors, master students, under-graduate students. People from different fields, but the majority was the IT field.
The instructor introduced himself, then those who have written business plans before introduced themselves ... they are about 3 persons... sure all of them are running their business.

Then time for each person to introduce himself, along with the idea (optional) ... I was the last one. Some of them had good presentation skills, others it would be better if they have talked in Arabic :D .
I liked that our project is really unique, and no one talked about Robotics, except somehow in children thing project by undergraduate students in AUC ... the word "LEGO" was mentioned by one of the participants (commenting their project idea).
All time I was preparing what to say ... at last I've said the minimal words, and I missed some words about "Why Robotics?" that I think it would make a difference, but al-hamdulellah ... as I was the last one, people were in hurry.

Then we've to make groups, each 5 make a group. I'm a member of a group, with two students (one I've mentioned above), senior technical man running a company and a dentist :D
The group has chosen a project to make a business plan for by the end of the course, to be evaluated, then the best group with 5 members (each representing his original team). The competition then will be among those 5 teams (I think there will be two winning groups, so that number of participating teams in the Final are 10)

Now I'm backing home, wondering how we'll manage 8-)

Constitution ... "I Love Egypt"

Ok, Along with facing new technologies and services, thinking of post midterm exams schedule and studying for the exams (tomorrow is the last one, Distributed Computing) .. I've been involved in that event .. the Constitutional amendments of Egypt
Don't worry, I'm not that much involved ... let me tell you the story of a busy, computer science (specifically, Scientific Computing) student that heard about his role in the Constitution recently!

Few weeks ago, about a month, I've seen an opposition banner , in street, for some changes in the judges role ... fine, It's concerned with lawyers, I've nothing to do with that!

About one or two weeks later, I've received an email on my yahoo that didn't appear cuz of encoding problems ... delete!
Few days later, another clear email, saying "No for the constitutional amendments"! ... oh what's going on, what I should do with this political issue ... do I've something to do about the Constitution! "El-Dostoor" (A high-class word!)

I think you got bored! .. so let me speed up...
Few days ago, I become aware of what's going on, what are those amendments, and how I'm involved.
I've heard different opinions about different actions that could be taken!

Actually, those changes affected me more than the presidential elections! I don't worry whether President Mubarak is there for 25 years! (busy people forget even their birthdays!)
And I'm thankful for the president for the modern Innovations such as Bridges, Metro and other modern institutions. (I wont get into more details, keeping the Blog in "Safe Mode")
Ok, I don't know what to say now, the constitutional modifications are strange! Didn't the "inventor" thought of public reaction ... what's the coming plan .. what the public will do ... and the international reaction!! ?? (No, I'm not a TV presenter! )
How did the new constitution become logic enough to be out for polling! .. really strange.

I've no more words to say, the number of "!" used above indicate my feelings !!

ACM-ASCIS Home Coming event, history of...

after 45 days, I felt It's important to write my feelings toward the last Home Coming event I've participated in...

That was my third participation. When I was in first year, I remember the ACM-ASCIS steering committee just come and spread registration forms among the students attending the Math lecture :D (i've heard yesterday that Mr. Hussein Mehanna, the founder of ACM-ASCIS has made a big show in his day, about 7 years ago)
In second year, that was my first participation, under supervision of Wael El-Gayar (Ex-president, a man I really appreciate :) ), I was the second man to present the IQs (after Moussa)... and then I realized I shouldn't come on stage again (for my low voice) :D
Last year, my second participation, was with a poster, newsletter (in cooperation with Asmaa) and sitting on the PC scrolling the IQ slides :D ... again under supervision of Wael El-Gayar, that time was much better .. specially after the words of Abdullah about the team work in the Newsletter.
Then comes my third, maybe the last, participation in the Home Coming event (BTW, Home Coming name was introduced by Mustafa, it's more realistic than 'welcome party', cuz it's not a party)...
A lot of new things... the team and the effort
Much more effort, It's my last participation, and I liked to leave a good impression
Oh, I forgot to tell u, It's under supervision of Beeboo (Abdul-Rahman Essam) now ;) , It was a wise choice by Haytham (President)/Moussa(V. President) to let the next generation do it.

At the begining, the new team caused me more time for thinking before taking any action .. that caused a tough touch with Heba Nasser, the media designer for the event ... and I wish that situation has been overcomed during the preparation time el-hamduellah.
I've used my "manager" privelage to make work go faster, It was the poster design that I thought all designs will have the same theme so it should be accomplished soon .. that didn't happen actually.
In few days I realized how they work :D ... That was interesting
The way that team worked is based on concept of Loving what they do, each is doing his best to result a wonderful output finally.
I've seen exciting designs (including decoration), that let me say "I think I've become the old fashion man!" :D

That's very good, but for a community like acm-ascis, that should be accompanied by some intermediate supervision. But still, this supervision shouldn't be now, next time n-sha2-Allah :D ... as Beeboo said, if that happened, that would have reduced the quality of the event.

Ahmad Fouad, the man who prepared the intro flash movie, he did it in one day just as I phoned him and told him we really need some intro flash. He finished the intro without sound cuz he used his friend's PC that has no sound system. He kept sending me his work more than once cuz the file was corrupted. He cared, and he did his best :) ... so he deserved an ACM-ASCIS membership ;)
NOTE: All I know about Ahmad, is that he's a third year student. Alaa Shaker recommended him, and I'm waiting to see him n-sha2-Allah.

All work done, kan 3ala 7esab el newsletter somehow ... but the newsletter is finally out el-hamdulellah with some mistakes :D ...But I really liked the articles inside ;)

Finally, the event that year was completely different ... and more attractive, and I'm sure next year n-sha2-Allah, it'll be the best.

I want to talk the same way as my friend, but not the same sound..
That's the high/low tones ... sound curves ... the way a letter is pronounced.

Given my sound and the desired style... is it now possible to let me talk like him ?
I've thought of that when my friend liked to record Quran recitation... the recitation checking here could be done that way by making the desired recitation one like Meshary, or Al-Hosary ;)

Have u ever heard before about Phishing ?
Maybe ... and the most probable is that u have experienced it without knowing it's phishing

Phishing is simply the email u receive asking u for information such us credit-card number, password, etc.. Illegaly

Few years ago it has been spread a page looks like hotmail sign-in page, It sends input data to the page creator (That's ur mail and password, u thought u r logging in!)
Other examples maybe email seems to be sent by some bank asking to confirm ur personal data or ur account will be expired...

Phishing pages may be detected logically by how the sender speech, links in content, secure url, etc... u could find this in Wikipedia and a little search on Google ofcourse :D

I've heard the term 'Phishing' since I used the IE7... and today I've entered a Phishing IQ, proudly i got 4/10 in determing phishing emails :D

I should confess that what I do others could see and know, it's all spread sooner or later... starting not alone would give me things and not give me others
I couldn't think which to choose, Is it my brain guiding me or my heart ?
Is it spirit of challenge ? or revenge ?
Will I be among them ? or I'll be auxilary ?
Do I have to think all time how to be not auxilary, or to know that I'm the responsible ... which is better ?

Today is our last practical exams days, we had 3 practical exams... Visualization, Mathematical Programming and Simulation

also I may talk about some topic I've read just 2 days ago, that I wanted to read 2 years ago :D, it's just simple ... no more than 2 pages!

ooh, i was about to forget, in my blog it's the most suitable place to talk about my designs..

Thoughts are incrementing rapidly in my mind... 'my mind' a part of my body, a main part, that controls my ears, my eyes, my nose ...... oh i'm saying 'my ..' as it's actaully a gift! A gift from ALLAH... that's the thing I decided to talk about, others I'll manage n-sha2-Allah to talk about later, here is the centre of my speech:

Imagine how many organs are doing its task for me to see ?

The nervous system, that let me feel..

Ears, Nose, Mouth, Eyes, Hands, Legs,,, Digestive 'System'

The most organized system ever... I will stop talking about biology here, I'll go to humanities issues, still the same main topic.

How many times have you reached Success ?

How many times have you wakeup from your sleeping ? (how many years ??)

How many (maybe much) persons love you ?

How much oxygen do you breathe to stay alive ?

How many trees are there to help serving you that oxygen ?? ... yes, It's a system

How many water drops have you drank ?

Why people remember failure more than success ?

Today, suddenly I've remembered one of my success stories, I started remembering those moments... I kept thanking ALLAH, and asking why don't I remember these moments always when I face failure ?

These moments increase the work spirit ... It let you even find a goal If you don't have one

Isn't that one of the favors ALLAH gave us ? to 'remember' and to 'succeed' ...

Yes, Success is favor from ALLAH, we work to obey ALLAH orders ,, and ALLAH lead us to success then.

A complete oraganized huge system, that a 'thankfull' human being find place in it, and others never advance

Thanks ALLAH for giving me this skills, of writing now ... for understanding the words I see .. for seeing the world around.. for the body, for the friends for for for ... I'll never finish

in that time I asked my parents, through international call :D.. and they accepted the idea el-hamdulellah

then yesterday night, haytham told me we are not enough, so we may not bring a cow :(

coming here to talk about some interesting thing, I've just discovered yesterday...
It's the presence of a kind of parasites in my stomach. Waiting the digestive system to complete it's task... then hurry up before the blood carry nutrition to body cells, catch it to grow and multiply.
That was the description of the Dr. ... the reason is the 'Take Away' food (specially salads), what should u expect to be my reaction ? in addition that I knew it may reach the Liver :
That was happy news, cuz I knew the reason of less concentration, and being thin!
And bad news to feel that i've been silly, others eating my food!,and... will it pass ?

Name of the parasite: Entamoeba histolytica (cyst)
How did I know ? Moussa told me long time ago to go and make analysis, that time I went to Dr. 'batna' and analysed the case wrongly! (a non-eating boy :D)
a year later, yesterday, I've done the desired analysis, without asking a Dr.
It's nice to discover parasites inside my stomach :D, welcome heavy guests :D, it's time to fight it ;)

lonely, a bad/good feeling, good if it's forgotten and worked in something useful, and bad when it start controlling my mind.

instead of talking about my personal feelings, I'll talk about something that i think it's useful, the topics may not be organized enough, but i wish it .... works

few weeks ago, graduation project has taken a part of our time, thinking of graduation project, determining the department, are they tightly related ? does the department affect the postgraduation life ?

alot of opinions, and long time of conversation, it started by thinking of some new ideas (scientific projects) as it was supposed that all of us gonna choose scientific computing,,, we thought of a flight simulator, a human-mind action predictor, robot simulation, sound/air environment analysis, etc...
actually all topics are going to science, it has something to do with science, we thought of it cuz we need to fit the project to the department!
is that logical ?, may be, later we (me and kamal) met Dr. Abdullah Gamal, he is a graduate of S.C. dept., he didn't find what he expected, scientific department outside FCIS (maybe outside Egypt) has another view!
That speech conclusion, is that every computer scientist should know about networks, image processing, compilers, etcc... .... yup, Computer Science subjects :D
he said that only 'Computational Geometry' was the interesting subject, and may help the computer scientist
If you wanna be an Assitant, and your grades of the previous three years is acceptable, then go to scientific, ,,, if you wanna study the "Computer Science" for knowledge and has more to do with work than scientific, then go to C.S.
Scientific has nothing to do with work in egypt, except in a little number of companies such as Schlumberger (oil and petroleum)
Then we scheduled a meeting with Ahmad Safwat, Mahmoud Hossam, Abdullah and Karim, then joined us Mohammed Samy and Zidan
The conclusion is that no department is bad, u should define your vision, define your goal, what you wanna be after being graduated, will you work hard to find a job in Schlumberger ? do u like science such as Numerical Analysis ? or do u prefer to study Networking, Pattern Recognition,,, and compilers ?
or you prefer to study technologies and tools to be ready for real life work, as well as know what's Database and Datamining (IS) ?

oops i forgot C.Sys. although i like, it seems that we didn't talk alot about it, or maybe didn't talk at all!
it's really a nice dept. The study of embedded systems, and continue on the line of Computer Architecure and Logic Design, doing software for different hardware types.
After graduation of any department, you will find work in Egypt, but if you wanna work in a specific field, then you have to take care, it would be hard to find a job, but still you can find a job.
other ideas grew in that meeting and in another little meeting before, that was a 'Wii', Grid Computing, virtual chemical lab, etc...
I wish that was a clear topic, and not a maze !

not a bad subject :D, good Dr. (Dr. Tayseer) awelha 7efz, then feeh sho3'l kwayes such us drawing an EER, Normalization, Relational Algebra, Indexing and Trees problems

it's concerned with DB design, making a perfect DB design logically and physically

lab is SQL Server, 3o2bal ma yb2a 2005 :D, project is make a good DB with a simple C# interface, the data validation and any check or constraints is done through SQL Server not C# (procedures, functions, rules and defaults)

Graphics (lab and 2 projects):

it's a good subject, but not perfect :D, game programming generally has a gr8 market, but that subject ma wasaletsh lel mostawa da :D

good subject, and respectfull Dr., although el subject 7efz, bas el exam ma kansh 7efz 7'ales, the subject is concerned with system development phases (shabah software engineering, but more understood), we fel nos kda hy7sal intersection between DB and System Analysis :D

lab is making use case diagram, activity, sequence, class and state diagrams for a specific system

Numerical Analysis (lab and lecture project)

A nice subject, and more than nice :D, but not a suitable Dr. :s , subject is full of approximations :D , it helps when developing something that requires mathematics such as numerical integration, spline and interpolation (find curve given points), representation of floating point in computer, error, etc...

Full of rules, if you could start studying from the beginning alone, it will be useful in Scientific department too ;)
project was to make an application that draws sin/cos function, then choose some points, and let it draw a spline using those points (compare the calculated with the original)

Prolog (lab and project)

New way of programming :D , backtracking in minimum time, and dealing with laaaarge numbers too

an AI programming language, that has the capability of getting input given some output :D (backtracking and find possible inputs that generate that output), and finding all possible solutions.

final exam is too long, it's all implementing algorithms and though you should memorize it to finish quickly, our exam had one intelligent question,,, like ACM ones, but actually i didn't solve, cuz i had no time to understand it :(

project was to make any visual prolog application :D , XO game,,, or whatever

we implemented dijkstra algorithm graphically

Software Engineering (lab and project)

Here come the only 7efz subject :D, good Dr. but subject not, in 2nd term comes System Analysis and DB that are much better and easily understood :D

it's concerned with different phases of developing a sytem, and different approaches, and also project management.

lab is Oracle DB ;) and Oracle Form builder (zay el access feeh DB and forms, bas da Oracle ;))

project was to make a system, feeh DB we forms and reports (nafs fekret el access barDo)

we implemented a Stock Brokerage application, i think that was the best project in the first term beside our trials in serial communication using assembly

yesterday was the last exams day in the 3rd Grade of FCIS, after about 2 months full of projects and exams,,,, it's now VACATION <:o) How 3rd year looks like (generally): A year containing interesting courses much more than any other year, courses full of new information, and things that makes you understant how computer hardware and software works ... tell you make your own assembler ;) Along with other subjects, that are useful for building projects (steps for developing a big project), such as System Analysis (I think that's the only one :D ) Lets talk in details ? OK

First Term:

Algorithms: (lab and project)
Subject name appears attractive :D , the syllabus started with how to calculate the algorithm complexity and methods for doing so, then sorting algorithms, divide and conquer, graph (Breadth, Depth, Prim, Kruskal, Dijkstra), dynamic programming (knapsack and LCS)
el Dr. (galna 2 drs. , abl we b3d el midterm, b3d el midterm kan el graph and dynamic algorithms) ta2reeban ma byeshra7sh 7aga :D , the "Introduction to algorithms" book exercices are very good to solve questions concerning complexities.
I was not interested in that subject cuz i didn't learn smg new, and i was supposed to be excellent in the exam as i'm an ACMer :S :D
Project was to represent any of the graph algorithms visually (like java applets for algorithms)

Assembly: (lab and project)
Useless subject :D , just get general idea about intel assembly and use the "debug" command in DOS, and the 8086 Emulator tool.
They will say expressions such as "Registers" and "Flags" you won't understand how they work, or where are they till you study Computer Architecture in the second term ;) you will only know that ZF (zero flag) is zero when an operation on the AX register (or some register) results zero..
Project was either a virus (7aga btel3ab fel interrupts,,, u'll know it barDo), text editor (using Assembly 7'allo balko :D ), piano (u may IN and OUT through computer ports using assembly easily :D cuz it's low level), encryption/decryption
e7na fakarna na3mel serial port communication between two PCs, a3adna feeh 4 days, na2al 1 character we battal :D, 3'yarna el project :D

Automata:

The name that our AI course should be called!

A name like one above is suitable when you feel no difference between the study of humanities and AI!… is suitable when you read the exam paper to find such questions:Explain briefly:a)… b)… c)…Explaina) … b)… c)…Explain “bla bla bla” in terms of:a)… b)… c)… (Note: b is “write algorithm for…”)

Such a name is suitable when the same printing mistakes of the 2005 exam, is again there in 2006!

When the prof. ask you to answer only 5 questions of 6, if you did answer the 6 questions… all will be canceled!!A course put since 10-20 years ago! , studying the history of AI and Expert Systems of yeeears ago!All the term searching on the net for topics concerning AI, we find different way of learning, modern articles, maybe we don’t find those in our course! … then copying-pasting-printing then throw on the bench!

We study, definitions , types, advantages, bla bla bla… and the AI lab is a case containing a number of predicates that recurse and get a solution, yaa far7ety, wel nas barra bta3mel robots and neural networks on microchips, we e7na hena ben7ell case bta3et wa7ed msh 3aref yet3’adda in which restaurant!

Update the syllabus and the book, look for 2006 publishes
The exam should be a number of problems, that’s not about filling databases with facts!!,, but about how to solve a problem using few states.
And more…

The problem will persist till we at least talk and say “NO” , we are taught a number of interesting subjects wrongly, although we are in a practical faculty!

I've talked before about new things we have learned/used,
now i'm gonna talk about the purpose of the project itself, and before i'll try to explain what's the 'Computer Architecture' about,,,
Amigos team and Wael Abu El-Kheir (Compter & Info. Sciences-Ain Shams, 3rd Year students) worked in that project, trying to make something useful for architects and students or doctors to check their designs ;)... correct design -> correct simulator results, and vice-versa :D

What's the computer architecture?
A computer contains a CPU that process all data, Memory that stores data, and other devices such as hard-disk, I/O devices...
First, the architecture deals with how that processor works, or how to make it work... how to make it understand that a given string of 0's and 1's means ADD or SUBtract or whatever?
Second, it start looking for how to manage the processor activities with other devices arrond

A written code (Assembly, C, etc...) is first Assembled/Compiled , that produces the '.obj' file containing 0's and 1's, each code instruction has it's 'opcode' (string of 0'sand 1's) that identifies it, those binaries are stored in memory then read by the processor as input to the CLU (Control Logic Unit), that unit takes input, then inside it performs a number of logical operations, and outputs to the control lines (increment, clear, load, read, write) of the desired Register, RAM, MUX, etc..
That's all about architecture.

What Archigos do ?
The idea is to make a dynamic emulator, we may call it simulator. That takes the computer architecture design description as input, then it simulates that desgin. i doubt u got what i mean :D !
ok, the design contains some wires that are inputs to some logical gates and are not output of any logical gate,,, those wires are 'pure' inputs, that means i should feed it with there values for the CLU to work
other wires are output of some logical gates, and are not input to any other gate, those are called pure output, outputs on those wires is what i need to control my computer components
I give the simulator the CLU description, give it input, connect output wires with control lines of componenets i represent as objects in my simulator, then press 'Run' it shows the effect of given input on the computer components.
I wish it's somehow clear now :D

we used Electronics Workbench to draw the CLU and to transfer it to Netlist file, we parse (.net Regex) that netlist to produce a C# code (.net CodeDOM library) , all is logical expressions
Compiling then Invoking the generated function (.net Reflection) , returns output that is connected to my objects control lines (object references -pointers do undefined behavior :( )
That's it all.

The compuer components are till now statically repreented inside the code, that's the computer components are code defined, and so connections between components
We look to make that dynamic, no more components are defined inside the code, a user then should create the component he would like to add to his computer, and its control lines will appear for matching with the design wires,,, and so entire connections between components gonna be done graphically

I didn't talk about ALU as i actually forgot it :D, it's that part of the computer that performs arithmetic and logical operations, it has its own parsing techniques cuz we won't draw it all, we just draw its first, and last stage , and the i^th stage, that's gonna be repeated n-times

other files are the CLU design description
pressing next parses these files, and determines if there is 'resursive' connections or 'duplicate' output names (those conditions are denied).

left grid is for pure input wires and right one is for outputs (an option above is available for showing non-pure outputs too)
left column of each contains wires determined in the design, right column are control lines of objects in application
I may save matching for later use, and also names that nearly look like each other are matched automatically
Pressing next, generates the C# code, and sort statements (as some output maybe input to another statement, it should be evaluated first)
any errors (all input wires should be matched, warning that maybe some control lines are not connected to any wire), the architect is notified
Then running the simulator
The simulator performs on the latest loaded design, the architect may move step-by-step are run the appication till a breakpoint or halted

A downloadable (source and executable) version will be available soon isA

The 'Computer Architecture' third year project...

We have condensed the work in emulator, trying to make it suitable for the given computer processor drawing...

Let me talk about what new things we have learned (or done):

- Usage of .NET reflection, and CodeDOM classes

- Usage of pointers in C# (It's making undefined behavior now :s!)

- String manipulation and parsing

- Making our own controls

The latest point is not that hard, but it's new, and we have used alot of GDI+ and handling windows messages,,, it's great to think of making ur own control

u know, characters may be indexed either from -127 to 128 i think, or from 0-255
our dear friend has a written pseudo or scenario that index the first way,,, he doesn't wanna keep adding offset to convert it to the second way!
that's he wants:
array[-x] => returns some character

ok
do u have any idea about it ?

lets define the array:
char* ch = new char[256] //C++ Code;

//Till now we should start indexing from 0, other wise negative indexing may result in outOfRange or 'Access Violation'

resolve that by the coming trick:
ch += 127;

wow, now the pointer is pointing to the middle of the array, and the compiler has reserved a 256 bytes for ur array too,,,, it's complete now ;)

ch[-127] = '0';
kep addressing from -127 till 128

What about C# ?
u can do it:

char [] array = new char[256];
fixed ( char* ptr = &array[0])
{
char* p = ptr+127;
}

//ok, u may notice some changes,,, u couldn't increment the pointer itself, that's why we used another one 'p'
// the fixed thing,,, it's because u r taking the address of unfixed expression (the char array)

in C# , u may use -ve indexing even without shifting the pointer, but that ofcourse won't result the desired output :D

Pointers is one of many other programming language capabilities that every big system developer will need,
Inheritance, Virtual functions, and alot of keywords that when we read about years ago, we said
"structure! , that's making working more complex, i should put some extra text and a dot!"
"making a function private!!, i should not make it at all then!"
"pointers!, why should a have the variable address, i'm dealing with it's value!"

ok, years passed, and someday will come to recognize how important those things are.
Now, i'm gonna talk about how important are pointers and how are they in C#

Pointers:
Assuming a have an electronic connection, node "A" is connected to node "B", and node "C" is connected to node "A" too.
the value of "A" is calculated somehow,,, when representing these nodes as ByValue variables in ur code, then each time u gotta Update values of B and C to have the new value of A!
Update(ref bool B, ref bool C)
{
B = A;
C = A;
}
Good, but what if I've initialized B and C with the address of A ?
bool* B;
bool* C;
B = &A;
C = &A;

any changes to A gonna be reflected to automatically and seen through B and C
Pointers are not only used for dynamic memory allocation ( i think that has not become a matter in C#, as its default is dynamic by reference allocation for the majority of classes).

What do u think the action taken by the C# compiler when you write code as above ? ... pointers in Unsafe scope!!... you should specifiy that part of code to be unsafe, rick region :D
you could specify the scope of function, class, etc... by preceding it's declarator with the keyword 'unsafe'

u have to initialize the pointer with address of some variable (no just 'new' address allocated for the variable)

Yes, as the variable you have assigned it's address to that pointer is of no more use, then the pointer is aloso of no more use :D
that's a good point, u don't have to 'delete' the pointer,

u may make it 'fixed' ... how ?

Ok, why we won those contests ? ... how to make sure you gonna win or don't get upset if you lose ?

1- Why we won:

Did we expect winning the local ? No we didn't, Did we seek it?, sure Yes, so what happened...simply:

as much as ur effort, even if big part if your efforts failed, but you didn't stop, and try harder and work more,,, that increase the probability of winning.
is it work only ? No, what else ? al-taqarrob ela ALLAH, ALLAH is the only who let you fail or succeed, so what happens if you forgot ALLAH!! your work is gone with the wind.
So finally the two factors affecting vectory, is WORKing and NEVER FORGET ALLAH

That's gr8 question... do u have another chance, or is it the last ?...
if you have another chance then it's the perfect time to lose, review the reasons that result in that... fix them, practice and work more, even if you have worked alot before.
You don't have another chance, it's quite fine, think of other achievments, think of what you should do else (wont talk about that now cuz actually i couldn't feel it :D)

3- What happens if you succeed ?
become afraid ?,,, become "scared" ? ... that's how you should feel, almost other feelings won't lead you to the right way.
could you plz turn these scaring energy to mind/thinking/work energy ? ... follow the factors i mentioned above, don't work randomly, define a plan, The team members should help each other to finish the missing part ... sure u have some missing things, knowledge is infinite.. team members should hear the leader's word, team members must stay friends...

i'm here now writing the part 2 of the kuwait trip (ICPC Regional Contest), after the home-coming event/2006 has been done successfully e7l,,, and while i was there remembered those days i was in kuwait,,, contest hours,,, and awards time :)

before u read, u should know that u gonna find alot of grammar/spelling mistakes, and uncomplete sentences, cuz it's all brainstorming!

since the beginnning of the vacation, the first day, i really slept... with no interrupts...is it the beginning of relax, i thought so,
i wanted, as i told u before, to learn fireworks and complete the acm tasks...
let's review what i've finished:
- 1 of the 3(may be more) acm committee tasks
- nothing in acm pracice.
- running fireworks!
- XML basics!

the first few days of the vacation, i was interested to learn so and so, i was interested when opening fireworks to explore it,,, and when reading about XML... i was not interested when working in the acmASCIS site, cuz i don't like that task,,, cuz i face alot of silly problems with asp.net, iis and the server!

yesterday i did nothing all the day...cuz i had no day that day... i wake up @ night,
today, i wake up early at 5:20 am, wishing to work alot,,, but i couldn't
I need a rest for two days -- I need to finish the work i supposed to finish
-------- and finally i remember that 4 days are remaining from the whole vacation!

"Never think like a computer..." that was a substring in a quote published in the first (and last till now :D) acmASCIS newsletter.
I thought that thinking like a computer is top of success, and knowing how to deal with computers... few months ago i've recognized that i've reached that level, but it's not level of success,,, it's level of dumping, u may also say start of stupidity!

After 'studying' a number of algorithms for the acm, and using it to solve alot of problems, my mind is now used to ONLY map algorithms with problems!...other choice (which is to think simply) has become the last choice!

so i wish i could just return my normal human thinking mind, and take care, Never think like a computer.

the contest started, two problems foreach member, i got A&B, kamal C&D, moussa E&F
we solved B, as it's LCS algorithm, that's code is ready,,, but as non-expected -> WA
after some trials....WA too!!!!!!!
after few minutes, we found A solved by almost all teams, i read it again and again, kanet dema3'y me2affela, finally i got how to solve it O(n^2) {it has an easier solution O(n), e7l ma gatsh TLE}
solved the problem, submit,,,,WA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
making some modifications + submittions = WA !
kamal wrote code for his problem (C or D i don't remember)...then moussa sat to write his code, coming out silly problems!
the progress of Wael team is all what are trying to leeead, they solved about 2 problems till now! and we ZERO!
after fixing the silly problems concerning I/O with moussa's problem, we got it, the first ACCEPTED,,,,time left:= about 2 Hrs!
i'm sure of my code, for both problems, but i started getting hesitated!...i read it more than once, moussa doing so with me (As he 2affel 7'las)...kamal is fixing his code (moussa m3ah bardo :D)
{i've read kamal problem, and seen his code, and he has seen my code,,, but we didn't make big change :D....but that should happen in most cases ;) }

ignoring my sort function in both problems, the code is working correctly, i've made the sort function completely WRONG, it's returning BOOLEAN!!!!...i've fixed the problem, expecting that i'll get WA as usual :S....the second AC :D..fixed the other problem...3rd ACCEPTED, when was that...it was in the last 'freeze' hour ;)

kamal sat again to modify his problem, .................... ALLAH AKBAR that what he said, and we repeated, after he got the ACCEPTED...now 4 problems ACCEPTED.
We started solving another problems, and we are sure we won't complete it :D...but we have to do smg ;)

sorry friends, but it's a habit, i don't like writing much (i like talkng much :D - i'm asking u to join me making some researches for making light voice-blogs ;))

yes, i wanted to cry that moment, let me turn to Arabic...

أنا دايما بحط أسوأ الاحتمالات، عشن ما أصدمش، لكن المرة دي بالرغم من إني حطيت احتمال ان احنا ما نطلعش التاني، لكن بجد بجد زعلت...

المهم، مش هنفضل زعلانين كتير، خصوصا إن إخواتنا هيثم ومصطفى طلعوا الأول ;) خدنا بعضينا بالأحضان، وأنا أكيد زعلان برضو، بس بدأنا نعقلها أنا وموسى ونحضر هنعمل ايه عشان نضمن المركز الأول السنة الجاية، وكمان قولنا الحمد لله هنلاقي وقت نخلص المشاريع اللي متلتله! وقلنا بقى ايه نعمل ورد acm ونخش online contests وتظبيط يعني :D

تاني يوم موسى عمل اتصالاتوا الفضولية بدكتور عبد الله، عشان نعرف ايه غلطتنا، وعرفنا الغلط، وبعدين موسى كلمني وقاللي الغلط (كان في مسألة أنا حلتها) وبدأنا النقاش، ووصلنا إن الغلط ممكن يكون في الـtest cases بتاعة الـjudge، وبرضو كنت متوقع إن نبقى احنا اللي غلط، موسى رن لعبد الله الساعة 1:30 بالليل، رن بس :D كلمناه تاني يوم في الكلية واكتشفنا الاكتشاف العظيم، إن إحنا ما غلطناش، وحللنا 3 مسائل والفرق بينا وبين فريق وائل بتاع 3 دقايق تقريبا واللا 30 دقيقة مش فاكر :D

ملحوظة: إن إحنا بقينا الثالث عشان اكتشافهم إن إحنا حللينا مسألتين بس صح (ركزوا بقى في الحتة دي، إحنا المفروض حللينا 3 صح، واحدة منهم بقت غلط في الـre-judge، بقوا اتنين، والمسألة الرباعة الكانت بتجيلنا غلط بقت صح، يعني مسألة قصاد مسألة :d)

تمام كده، بقت المشكلة في إن النتيجة أعلنت، وتغيرها صعب، بدأت مشاكل لمدة يوم تقريباً، دكتور عبد الله قال يا إما فريق وائل "يتنازل" لينا عن المركز التاني، اللي هو المفروض من حقنا! أو نعمل contest تاني ما بينّا!... عملنا مفاوضات واتكلمنا عن حقنا وكلمنا وائل والناس كلها ودوووووشة!، وفريق وائل مصمم علي إعادة الـcontest!!! رضينا بالأمر الوقاع وقلنا نستعد الكام ساعة الفاضلين دول للمسابقة تااااااااني! وتوكلنا على الله، لإن هو أكيد هينصرنا آجلا أم عاجلا.

رحنا تاني يوم، كل ده كان كمال ميعرفش حاجة عن الموضوع، قلنالوا بس إن في إعادة للمسابقة، وطبعا فرح (زي ما أنا فرحت أو ما قالولي قبل ما أعرف إن احنا اللي معانا الحق)

دخلت لقيت اجتماع يحضره دكتور عبد الله، وائل، سامح، هيثم، كمال وموسى، فضلنا نتناقش في نفس الموضوع برضو!

دخل طكتور كريم كمان شوية وشاركنا الاجتماع، وفي الآخر الدكتورين قالولنا نتطلع على ما هما يتخذوا القرار، Judges بقى ;)

دخلونا تاني، عشان يقولونا قرارهم:
- في في مسابقات الـacm حاجة مش فاكر اسمها، بس بما معناه استئناف :D

- مسموح إن الفريق يقدم تظلم في الحكم حلال فترة يومين من بعد إعلان النتيجة

- الحكام بصوا للموضوع من الناحية دي... وطبعا والحمد لله...

إحنا بقينا المركز التاني <:o)

بس جوايز المركز التاني هيدها فريق وائل، مش مشكلة :D المهم إن إحنا كسبنا في الـlocal contest

Here i'm, and after finishing the mid-term exams "partially"... still we (ACMers) have other 2 exams 'Assembly and Software Engineering', those were postponed cuz of the ACM National contest.
we'll finish them isA on coming Tuesday.

But I'm here to talk a little about the last two ACM contests, let's start with the Local one,
Event Time: 27th October 2005 (24th Ramadan) - 10:00am
Event Name: ACM-ASCIS Local Contest

the contest started, i've read a trivial problem, but i wasn't concentrating enough, i started coding...i faced problems in input :S...i've passed that problems, i've passed other problems cuz the problem statement itself didn't specify the problem precisely!.
Submit -> Wrong Answer! ...expected :D

Moussa started coding his problem (breadth first - Hareedy 'It has a linear solution ;)' )...i didn't expect that it'll be accepted easily, specially when we received 'Time Limit Exceed - TLE' for the first trial!
but Moussa knew how to handle that...it's using cut :D...we got the first YES in the contest,,, and we were the first team to solve any problem...so we got a big balloon (5 big ballons for the first 5 solved problems).

how my trivial problem got wrong answer!... alot of clarifications had been sent concerning that problem, it almost contain all the problem specification exactly...then i've modified alot in my code...submit, submit, submit -> YES... we have solved two problems, we are the 2nd rank now!

yup, Impossible Imps 'Haytham, Mustafa and Saber' solved 1 problem -> 2nd rank then other problem -> 1st rank ;)

i've started thinking in another problem, also trivial :D ... coding and getting C-String exceptions :S...keep coding!... Moussa solved his second problem but a little bit late, it's maximum sub-array...that was of no problem...but we'll talk finally about our mistakes.

i kept submitting my 2nd trivial problem, i got Runtime Error 'RTE' then 'WA'... and the contest finished...3 problems solved, kamal was solving a rectangles problem all that time, but with no acceptance :

2: Amigos
3: The 2 stupids 'Wael, Hosni and Sameh'

all of us started talking a little about the contest, and then went to Cook-Door,,, having our breakfast and waiting the result!...it's the moments before announcing the results!

looooong time no seen friends, it's lazyness has found it's way to me :S
but on the other hand, we have done gr888888 work in the ACM local (over FCIS) and National (over Egyptian comp. & info. sciences faculties) contests ;)

each of those two has it's own story, and ofcourse i've no time now to narrate :P

my schedule for the previous few days and the coming too...is to finish my asp project then finish some c++ and get into the big project of mfc
in parallel with that is the acm, it seems that lazyness is in it's way to our mind!
we still need to have a seat and put a deadline for each of those things...as a beginning let it for asp and c++...cuz it is nice to keep all the vacation working in mfc ;)

i lost them during the whole year!...thnx God i've found the keys...the faculty ID is useless now :D

i'm tied these days between asp.net and acm problems...some silly problems my stuck for many days :S...as i wanna finish my MFC project...ooh..i hope i can manage

but why am i bored ? ... simply cuz there is no water in home...no water at all in Giza (that what "el-bawab" said)
